You won’t just learn about what teachers do—you’ll do what they do—through teaching practice and hands-on classroom activities.

There’s a lot more to teaching than standing up in front of a class and giving a lesson (although that is a huge part of it). At camp, you’ll learn to apply many different elements that work together to make a successful teacher. And you’ll get teaching experience, too.

  • Find out what makes a helpful visual teaching aid. Then design and create your own. At the end of the week, put it on display, and then take it home with you for future use.
  • See how to make Bible stories, children’s books, and art projects come alive in the classroom. Then plan and teach your own lesson for the class.
  • Learn how to capture attention. Then practice with mock classroom scenarios.
  • Discover how to incorporate technology in the classroom. Then use them during everyday activities.

Teachers from Pensacola Christian College and Pensacola Christian Academy with years of teaching experience—and a passion for teaching—work alongside you all week. They share personal insight and helpful tips that you can apply in your future classroom, while helping your younger siblings, or even while babysitting. You may want to be a teacher, or you might just want to see what teaching is like. Either way, every camper is welcome.
