Improve your musical talents over the summer at Music Academy. This Christian music camp builds on your fundamental music skills and provides experience in solo and group performances. You're invited to come with pieces you've already prepared, or learn new pieces during camp.
Daily activities include private lessons; advanced classes; and group choral and instrumental instruction in your choice of strings, piano, woodwinds, and brass. Ample practice time will help you implement what you’ve learned each day.
Instructors provide close, individual supervision and encouragement daily—all with a Christian emphasis. You’ll learn proven techniques from Pensacola Christian College music faculty and professional Brazilian musicians Daniel Barbosa and his wife Renata (Jaffè) Barbosa. Renata is the daughter of PCC Artists-in-Residence Dr. and Mrs. Alberto Jaffè, who created the innovative Jaffè Strings program.
Music Academy is held in the Communicative Arts Center, which features two orchestra rooms; choir room; music suites; and practice rooms, each with a piano.
You’ll get to know other teen musicians as you prepare for performances, or during recreation times using the Sports Center, Swim Center, and more. Daily chapel provides opportunities for spiritual growth.
Music Academy concludes with the Honors Recital and Gala Concert held on the final day of camp. Your friends and family are welcome to the performance!
