Grades 9–12 (including Class 2012 graduates)
Focusing on the fundamentals of performance, Drama Camp provides hands-on experience in areas such as acting, costuming, makeup, staging, and scenic design/construction. You’ll see firsthand what goes on behind the scenes and experience the technical processes involved in a production.
Experienced Pensacola Christian College speech faculty will give group and individual instruction, as preparations are made for a production in the Experimental Theater, and performances for the Gala Concert in coordination with Music Academy. Family and friends are invited to attend these Friday events.
Daily activities include production preparation and rehearsal; studies in performance areas such as poetry, storytelling, and readers theater; and training in technical aspects such as costume design, sound, lighting, and scenic design.
You’ll get to audition for acting roles on the first day of camp, so bring a 1- to 2-minute memorized reading from literature (poem, story, or essay).
You’ll get to know other campers while preparing for the production, or during recreation times using the Sports Center, Swim Center, and more. Daily chapel provides opportunities for spiritual growth.
